"I watched my dad's podcast grow from nothing": Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan gets excited over dad's post-NBA ventures

Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony has been heavily impressed and motivated by his dad's NBA career and his ventures since retiring. Carmelo co-founded Team Melo, an AAU program to help young hoopers, and he also launched a popular podcast, where he interviews athletes and other influencers.

During episode three of Overtime's "The Evolu7ion" series released on Friday, Kiyan talked about his father's post-NBA ventures, including the growth of his podcast, "7PM in Brooklyn", co-hosted by Joel Armogasto Martinez, also known as the Kid Mero.

"Behind the scenes I watched my dad's podcast grow from nothing, like, he got one of the realistic podcasts," Anthony said. "I'm watching all of his episodes live with all of these famous people telling their story." [Time Stamp - 01:38]

The first episode of the podcast premiered in December last year and the channel currently sits at 261K subscribers on YouTube. In one episode, Junior Anthony joined the podcast as a guest alongside the Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George in late July where he explained why he called PG-13 his goat.

Kiyan Anthony makes an official visit to USC

Kiyan Anthony, the No. 1 recruit in New York, visited the University of Southern California campus on Thursday. On Instagram, he shared a picture of him holding a basketball with "SC" written on it.

The 6-foot-5 guard listed his top six schools in July including Syracuse, Ohio State, Rutgers, Florida State, USC and Auburn. He visited Florida State and his dad Carmelo's college, Syracuse last year.

As Kiyan approaches the end of his recruitment, he has one official visit left on his schedule before making his final decision. He will visit Rutgers next on Oct. 4 and will likely go on a second trip to Syracuse.

"I'm almost done. I'm about to take these last visits, then I'm going to commit," Anthony told 247Sports about his recruitment. "I'm looking to commit before the high school season, so last week of October or first week of November."

Anthony also mentioned he plans to discuss with his family which school will be the best fit for him.

"As far as my family, they want me to go somewhere that fits me. Obviously, I'm going away from my family. So, they want me to go somewhere where they know I'm good and is a family oriented school with not too much going on."

According to his On3 recruiting profile, the Orange has over 80% probability of landing Kiyan while other programs Rutgers, USC and Florida state have less than a 10% chance.
