Kiyan Anthony's mother La La makes major move
Variety recently revealed that Kiyan Anthony's mother, La La Anthony, would partner with her friend, reality television star Kim Kardashian, to produce a TV series. It will be based on her book 'The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness'.
The series will be named 'Group Chat' and will be wholly based on the 2014 New York Times best-seller. The duo will collaborate with 'Black-ish' creator Kenya Barris, who is listed as the series' creator.
Anthony announced the news in an Instagram post, showing her enthusiasm for the project. It was captioned:
"The secret is out!! 😱Super excited @kimkardashian and @kenyabarris it’s happening!!! This show is about to be CRRAAZZZYYY! Everything you and your friends talk about in love, life, friendships and relationships! Can’t wait!! Thank you @bslater9 for seeing the vision and putting this together! Let’s gooooooooo @hulu!!!!" she wrote.
The series will continue what has been a successful acting career for Carmelo Anthony's ex-wife. Most recently, she appeared in the Starz shows, 'BMF' and 'Power'.
Kim Kardashian outlined why adopting her friend's book as a television series appealed to her and what the whole process meant for her.
“I’m incredibly interested in telling stories that are personal, complicated, relevant, from my own experiences and those familiar to me,” Kardashian said.
“I had a front-row seat to working with the exceptional team at 20th Television during 'American Horror Story: Delicate', and I’m so excited to dive into developing my first wave of television projects with the team led by Karey Burke and Eric Schrier, and to continue working alongside Craig Erwich and his entire group at Hulu and Disney.”
The series will premier on Hulu and will be co-produced by both Anthony and Kim Kardashian, who has had a hand in a slew of television productions in the past year.
Kiyan Anthony's mother La La has had an eventful few weeks professionally and socially, with her son being ranked the No. 1 player in New York in the recruiting class of 2025. She is enjoying success both personally and at the family level.
