TCU star Hailey Van Lith was spotted training with her national teammates on Monday, ahead of Team USA's 3x3 basketball clash against Germany at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The USA women's basketball team will square off against Germany in their first game of Pool A on Tuesday.
Here are a few pictures of Van Lith training along with her teammates, Cierra Burdick, Dearica Hamby and Rhyne Howard:
Team USA's 3x3 basketball women's coach, Jennifer Rizzotti, and assistant coach, Tammi Reiss, were also looking on during the practice session.
The 3x3 basketball event at the Olympics will feature four players on each team's roster. However, only three will be on the court, with one used as a substitute.
The first team that reaches 21 points via one-point field goals or two-pointers behind the arc is victorious. If time expires, the team leading wins.
The USA women's team is the reigning Olympic champion at the 3x3 event. However, this is the first time Van Lith, Burdick, Hamby and Howard are playing at the grand event.
Hailey Van Lith opens up on learning curve being with Team USA's 3x3 basketball team at Paris Olympics 2024
Earlier this week, Hailey Van Lith spoke about her ambitions at the Paris Olympics and how she is making progress in her career in the company of professionals.
“This is a great opportunity for me to be around pros, to learn from pros,” Van Lith said (h/t USA Today). “But at the end of the day, my views on myself are never determined by people outside of me. College has been what it’s been for me but at the end of the day, the Olympics and playing for Team USA is the ultimate experience — and if they think I’m worthy to play for the national team, then that says a lot.”
Van Lith began her college basketball career at Louisville in 2020. She then transferred to LSU before the 2023 season. After one season with the Tigers, Van Lith transferred to TCU.
