Cooper Flagg enjoyed an impressive summer as he participated in the Team USA Olympics practice sessions and caught headlines with his dominant performance. The 6-foot-9 forward has already left people excited about his college debut and his eventual foray into the NBA.

From scouts to coaches and even players, Newport, Maine, native Flagg has drawn praise from everyone. Phoenix Suns veteran Kevin Durant told the Washington Post:

“He looks like a hell of a player. He’s 17 years old coming in here playing like a [veteran] almost. No emotion. Just going out there and doing his job. That’s a good sign.”

Cooper Flagg recounted the experience to his Duke teammate Caleb Foster on his "The Brotherhood Podcast," where he said:

"It was cool, an unbelievable experience. Just having the opportunity to be there and just share the court with that level of talent and player, the people who've made that type of name for themselves. I've been watching them for years, growing up."

Cooper Flagg reveals why he chose Duke over UConn

As the No. 1 recruit, Cooper Flagg received offers from multiple major programs, including the UConn Huskies. The forward took a visit to Storrs but still chose Duke over playing for the back-to-back champions.

During the same "Brotherhood" podcast appearance, Flagg explained his choice.

“It was something coach Scheyer had stressed to me a lot going through the whole process was about the feel,” he said. “Like I would know when I got the feeling of where I wanted to be. I think it really came down to when I came on my visit, I was able to meet all the guys on our team last year, interact with the coaches a bunch more."

Coach Jon Scheyer also seemed particularly impressed with the forward's performance. During ACC spring meetings, the coach spoke about the 17-year-old's incredible work ethic and said:

“Cooper, it's been a joy to watch him play in high school…No matter when I've seen him, he always plays the same way. He always competes, 100% effort. And I think that's a separator…To me, it's how he competes and who he is as a teammate.”

Cooper Flagg wrapped his high school career on a high note as he led Montverde Academy to a perfect 33-0 record and the Chipotle High School national championship. With this, the Blue Devils fans are eager to see if he will end Duke's almost decade-long championship drought.
