Dawn Staley can't wait for Caitlin Clark vs Angel Reese WNBA showdown
The WNBA is heating up with an electrifying clash on the cards between star rookies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. These two stars have reignited their intense rivalry from their college days.
Legendary coach Dawn Staley, fresh off her national championship win with South Carolina, can't wait to witness this showdown. With former Gamecocks like Aaliyah Boston and Kamilla Cardoso involved, Staley is already making bold predictions. The Gamecocks coach tweeted:
"4 ovetimes! 2 double-doubles from @Kamillascsilva @aa_boston. Want @v5axton to play and add to this! 1 each 3ptr….not a game winner but that would be nice. 7 blocked between the three @GamecockWBB. After this may the team that has the ball last wins! Can’t lose like this."
Many doubted whether the hype around Reese and Clark would transfer to the WNBA. But the data speaks for itself. May attracted maximum traction from fans in league history with 400,000 fans packing arenas at 94% capacity on average. Average viewership has skyrocketed to 1.32 million, tripling last season's numbers.
No wonder then that Reese vs Clark is must-see TV that even coaches like Staley can't get enough of!
