IN PHOTOS: UCLA's KiKi Rice gives a sneak peek into her summer by showing "a lil bit of everything"
KiKi Rice has been enjoying the offseason in the best way possible following an intense season with the UCLA Bruins. Yesterday, the talented guard took to Instagram to share some of her favorite moments from a relaxing summer, sharing a post with the caption,
"A lil bit of everything."
She certainly did not enjoy the summer alone, with a fair share of the photos she uploaded featuring her Bruins teammates. In one of those photos, Rice enjoyed a visit to a food truck along with Lauren Betts, Charlisse Legerwalker, and the Bruins' latest recruit from the transfer portal, Janiah Barker.
Rice also enjoyed some time on a luxurious boat with teammate and two-sport athlete Gabriela Jaquez, who also features on UCLA's softball team. She also made some time to enjoy a hike and some parties during the offseason.
However, she did not forget that staying sharp was also important, sharing a picture of a training session in the post as well.
Recapping a strong sophomore season for KiKi Rice in 2023-24
Rice was one of the Bruins' top players in their run to the Sweet 16 this past season. In 37 starts, she averaged 12.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 46.4% from the field, 30.2% from 3-point range and 87.6% from the free-throw line.
On December 7, 2023, Rice recorded a historic triple-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against CSUN which made her the 10th player in Bruins history to achieve the feat. Her exploits earned her All-Pac-12 honors and incredible success off the court as well.
Rice became the first-ever NIL athlete affiliated with the Jordan brand to get a personal edition (PE), which was named the 'Cherry Blossom'. She also featured alongside Caitlin Clark and Kamilla Cardoso in 'Full Court Press', an ESPN+ original series that gave a sneak peek into the world of NCAA women's basketball.
Entering her junior year in the 2024-25 season, KiKi Rice will be keen to show why she is one of the top prospects for the 2026 WNBA draft. With the Bruins adding a strong rebounder in Barker to their roster, coach Cori Close will look to Rice to lead their charge, as they chase a maiden NCAA Tournament title in women's basketball.
