IN PICS: Coach Prime's daughter Shelomi Sanders dons Alabama A&M jersey as she shares a positive message via IG

Deion Sanders' daughter, Shelomi Sanders, is settling into a new chapter of her basketball career. However, it won't be with her father in Colorado like last year. After one year of playing for the Buffaloes' women's basketball team, Shelomi decided to take her talents elsewhere by transferring to Alabama A&M for a new change of scenery.

She posted pictures of her donning the jersey of her new team on Instagram. In the caption, she had an uplifting message of what she aims to achieve this season.

"The sun will rise," Sanders said.

Shelomi Sanders' stint with Colorado last year, expectations this season

Shelomi Sanders was initially a member of Jackson State, playing in two games before transferring to Colorado midway through the 2022-23 season.

However, her role did not expand as she served as a reserve for the Buffaloes. She appeared in just five games, making her first career basket against Air Force on Dec. 2 in the 2023-24 campaign.

Sanders even reflected on her time with Colorado on a livestream in August, saying it was difficult. She ultimately decided to transfer after getting advice from her mother, Pilar Sanders.

“I don’t want to say anything too bad. It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit,” Sanders said.

Now with the Bulldogs, Sanders seems to have settled in, impressing in her debut for the Bulldogs with a career-high 14 points in an exhibition against Oakwood on Nov. 4.

She'll hope to make a significant impact on Alabama A&M, who finished with a 15-16 record last year as they fired their previous head coach and hired Dawn Thornton to lead the program for the 2024-25 season onward.

Sanders and the Bulldogs will focus on their next matchup against UAB at Huntsville, Alabama, on Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. ET.
