IN PICS: Coach Prime's daughter Shelomi Sanders enjoys fun day out with Alabama A&M teammates

Shelomi Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders' daughter, enjoyed a day off with her teammates on Wednesday.

The student-athlete at Alabama A&M University, along with Tia Harvey, Jaiyah Harris-Smith, and Aniya Palmer, went for a fun-filled outing at the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, California.

The 5-foot-6 guard shared several photos from their visit on her Instagram story, with the group posing for pictures and taking in the sights and sounds of the attraction.

One picture captured a tranquil moment at the zoo with a cluster of penguins perched by a shoreline near a pond.

"I wanted to take one," Shelomi Sanders humorously wrote a caption on the image.

Sanders and Co. are in San Diego California as part of the Lady Bulldogs basketball team who are competing in the 2024 San Diego MTE tournament. The team will face Utah Valley in their first game on Friday and will take on hosts, the University of San Diego, on Saturday at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Shelomi Sanders is in her third year of college and transferred from Colorado to Alabama A&M this offseason. She did not see much action in her two seasons with the Buffaloes but hopes to make an impact with the Lady Bulldogs this year. She played 15 minutes in her last game against Alabama–Huntsville and posted 6 points and 2 assists.

Shelomi Sanders wins father Deion Sanders over for Alabama A&M move

Deion Sanders was surprised when Shelomi Sanders entered the transfer portal in April to move away from the Colorado Buffaloes basketball program.

Deion was far from happy about it all — he straightforwardly called his daughter's decision 'stupid.' This decision to depart from her father's program apparently resulted in a period of silence between them.

"I don’t want to say anything too bad," Shelomi upon her exit. "It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit."

A couple of months later, it appears that he's starting to come around to the idea after all.
