IN PICS: Coach Prime’s daughter Shelomi Sanders gets abducted by an alien for 2024 Halloween
Alabama A&M’s Shelomi Sanders had an eye-catching choice for her Halloween costume. The daughter of Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders chose to bring the extraterrestrial theme to life with a unique alien costume. With an inflated alien stuck to her back, Sanders looked like she was being abducted by a neon green alien, with only her face popping out from the outfit.
Sanders posted dramatic photos on her Instagram stories, pretending to be carried away by the alien, along with a selfie to wish her fans a Happy Halloween.
Take a look:
Shelomi Sanders transferred from her father’s Colorado to Alabama A&M this summer, making it her third college destination. She began her journey after playing for the Jackson State Lady Tigers, where her father was coaching at the time.
The point guard is aiming to get significant minutes with the program switch, which has been non-significant in her Division I run so far. She played only two games with the Lady Tigers (4.5 minutes per game) and five games for the Buffaloes (1.8 mpg).
Sanders is slated to have a better season with the Bulldogs, as she went through the proper recruitment process in the transfer portal. Moreover, coach Dawn Thornton is aiming to cultivate Sanders’ 3-point shooting.
Shelomi Sanders' parents had opposite views on her transfer
Sanders’ decision to enter the transfer portal came as a surprise. Moreover, her father publicly declared her decision to switch programs "stupid" when he was asked about her move.
"Which was stupid (Shelomi's decision to enter the portal), you don't enter the portal. You get a team before you enter the portal,” Deion Sanders on the DNVR Buffs Live. “You kinda get a team before you enter the portal. You know, that's what I would advise a child. And I know, 'Well it's illegal...' C'mon, man."
However, her mother, Pilar Sanders, supported her daughter’s move. Moreover, she also pointed the finger at the football coach, suggesting that Shelomi Sanders could not experience a proper college basketball experience due to his connections within the sporting world.
"Shelomi was never given a fair chance to really get recruited because when recruitment started out of high school, going into college and she was having colleges and universities starting to contact her, but the minute they did..." Pilar said on the PilarSandersTV channel on YouTube.
"Everyone already thought I was going to JC, so," Shelomi added.
The father and daughter have found a middle ground since then and have actively showcased their support for each other's endeavors.
