IN PICS: Kiyan Anthony's mom attends 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show's comeback in a black mini dress
Kiyan Anthony's mother, La La was one of many celebrities to dazzle in the ongoing Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The iconic women's brand brought back its fashion show after a hiatus of five years, drawing the attention of Anthony and some of the nation's top celebrities to New York.
La La sizzled on the red carpet, sporting a black mini dress and black shades while pulling off her best poses for the paparazzi. Besides uploading multiple stories, she also put up a post on Instagram, capturing special moments from her experience in the Big Apple.
Anthony also posted a short video of photographers taking pictures of her on the ramp, with a large crowd seated in the periphery.
The return of Victoria Secret's Fashion Show, which last took place in 2019, featured a star-studded lineup of models. The list included Gigi and Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, and Kate Moss, who was making her debut at the event.
Why Kiyan Anthony is the reason for La La to keep the Anthony name
La La officially filed for divorce from Carmelo Anthony in June 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. However, she kept the Anthony name after the divorce, with their son Kiyan Anthony being a factor in how long she plans to keep her ex-husband's last name.
Per US Weekly, La La revealed in August that she planned to keep the Anthony name until Kiyan makes it to the NBA:
"That’s why I haven’t changed my last name yet,” said La La. “I’m gonna keep it around for a little while!"
Kiyan Anthony has made a mark at Long Island Lutheran High, emerging as a four-star shooting guard prospect. He is currently ranked the 34th overall prospect in the Class of 2025, and has already received offers from some of the top college basketball programs in the country.
This August, Kiyan narrowed his list down to six, which included USC, Rutgers, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, and his father Carmelo's alma mater, Syracuse. He recently made an official visit to USC after stopping by Syracuse and Florida State in the past.
The opportunity to build on Carmelo Anthony's legacy would make Syracuse favorites in the race for Kiyan's signature. With the deadline for commitment fast approaching, the nation will be interested to see where he ends up pursuing his college basketball career.
