Kiyan Anthony talks about his favorite role played by mom La La Anthony

Kiyan Anthony, La La’s 17-year-old son, has watched his mother’s career grow and evolve. While Kiyan considers La La’s most important role to be her job as his mom, he has a particular fondness for her role as Lakeisha Grant on "Power."

In an interview on "League Ready," which aired this week, Kiyan shared his admiration for his mom’s work on the hit show.

When it comes to movie roles, Kiyan said he enjoys her role in "Think Like a Man."

“I feel like her biggest TV [role] was 'Power.' So watching her seven years going from one episode of a season to being one of the main people, obviously 'Power' is one of the biggest shows. So super proud of her for going up like that,” he said.

La La Anthony's character on Power quickly became a fan favorite. Across six seasons, her role expanded until the character’s surprising death.

In the interview, Kiyan also mentioned the strong presence of his father, NBA star Carmelo Anthony, in his basketball journey. He shared that Carmelo often sits front-row at his games and trains with him both on and off the court.

“But my mom is really like just the emotional support,” he said.

Though La La and Melo have separated, they remain united as co-parents. They are often seen courtside together cheering for Kiyan at games.

Melo and Kiyan are frequently spotted together at notable events, like Knicks games, the Olympics and EYBL tournaments. La La, meanwhile, is known to take Kiyan on special trips, including a recent vacation to Japan.
