IN PICS: Paige Bueckers, Aubrey Griffin and other UConn stars show off stunning poses during media day shoot
Paige Bueckers, Aubrey Griffin and Jana El Alfy were featured in the latest Instagram post by UConn women's basketball on Tuesday from Uconn's annual media day.
Geno Auriemma's UConn held its media day in September, where the entire roster took part in photoshoots, filming videos and giving interviews.
UConn's women's basketball official Instagram account, @uconnwbb, uploaded some unseen photos from the event—solo pictures of several players posing in their unique style, rocking in the team's iconic blue and white jersey.
"here’s some media day content, we hope you like it," the caption read.
In the first image, 6-foot-1 forward Aubrey Griffin gave a victorious pose with one knee up and fist clenched. The background is a colorful blur, making them pop.
Next, UConn freshman Morgan Cheli had a big smile on her face as she stood, pointing forward with her left arm. Redshirt freshman Jana El Alfy looks up front holding a basketball with a serious look on her face.
The following slide shows a shot of sophomore guard Ashlynn Shade holding a basketball. The scene's dramatic blue and purple lighting with a big flame in the background gives off some serious intensity.
And at last, the superstar of the team, Paige Bueckers, smiles and rubs her hands gleefully, eager to play her final year of college basketball.
Aubrey Griffin reacts to Paige Bueckers last media day pictures
Paige Bueckers said that the upcoming season will be her last in college basketball.
Every year, the two-time Big East player shares a mirror selfie on UConn's media day. However, this time it was quite different for Bueckers. Instead of being full of joy like in previous years, her expression this time was bittersweet as her college career was coming to an end
On Sep. 23, Bueckers posted some BTS pictures on Instagram showing her dressed up for a photo shoot.
"Last anni media day mirror pics," she captioned.
Her teammate Aubrey Griffin quickly hopped into the comments.
"I've been waiting for these 😍," Griffin wrote.
Paige Bueckers averaged 21.9 points and 5.2 rebounds last season for the Huskies. She was a projected top-three pick in this year's WNBA draft but she decided to return for the final year. For the 2025 draft, the initial mock draft by ESPN put Bueckers in the No. 1 spot.
