IN PICS: Ron Harper’s son Dylan Harper dons Rutgers jersey for latest SLAM magazine cover shoot

Dylan Harper, one of the best recruits in the 2024 class, is all prepped to begin his freshman year with the Rutgers. However, before that, the son of former NBA champion Ron Harper is representing the Scarlet Knights through a stint with SLAM.

SLAM posted a series of snippets of the five-star recruit and the top combo guard in the nation. The photos showcase images from two outdoor shoots and one where Harper is sharing the backdrop with his Rutgers teammate, Ace Bailey.

"Hometown hero. Dylan Harper for SLAM 253. LINK IN BIO," the caption read.

SLAM also uploaded a YouTube video around their shoots with the co-stars, where the two talk about their aspirations and on-court chemistry.

Hours after the post, SLAM also revealed a customized T-shirt printed with Bailey and Harper's cover image. The T-shirt is available at SLAM's online store and was up for sale at Rutgers' exhibition game against St. John's.

Alongside T-shirts, sweatshirts and posters around Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey are also available. Rutgers-themed shorts, T-shirts, jerseys and other limited time apparel are also up for grabs.

The top-4 player in the recruiting pool comes to Rutgers after averaging 22.4 points and 2.5 rebounds for Don Bosco Prep in his senior year. He led the school to a 29-3 record and a NJSIAA non-public A state trophy.

He also brings significant international experience with a Team USA U19 stint last year, where he averaged 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds.

Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey showcase promise better basketball at Rutgers

Even though the Rutgers came up short (91-85), the exhibition game on Thursday was enough to excite fans for the upcoming season. Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey didn't look like they’re playing their first college-level game as they showcased their skillset.

The two freshman accumulated more than half of Rutgers’ points, with Harper scoring 20 and Bailey 25. Moreover, there were plenty of good signs for the program throughout the stretch, like the 22-0 run by the Scarlet Knights in the first half.

Another positive was the scoring total of 85 points, which represented the Rutgers' regulation-high score from the previous season.
