Insider predicts "biggest threat" to Duke's pursuit of Carlos Boozer’s sons Cayden and Cameron

The Boozer brothers Cayden and Cameron are two of the biggest names in high school basketball. Sons of former NBA player Carlos Boozer, they play for the Christopher Columbus High School and are aligned for the 2025 recruiting class.

While rumors suggested they could follow in their father's footsteps and go to Duke, On3's Joe Tipton said the brothers are likely to commit to their hometown program, the Miami Hurricanes, or the Florida Gators.

"Both have some of the top programs in the country pursuing them, including Duke, Miami, Florida, Arkansas and a couple of others," Tipton said. "The two are likely to team up in college. However, they are not shoo-ins to be Blue Devils.
"Miami is the hometown school. The Hurricanes could be the biggest threat in this recruitment. Florida is another in-state program that has made a significant push and the Gators are a dark horse. You also can''t count out John Calipari at Arkansas."

The Texas Longhorns, Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina, Michigan, Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks are amongst the top programs that have made an offer to the Boozer brothers.

Cameron had previously suggested he was open to programs other than the Blue Devils, while Cayden said all doors remained open.

“It’s definitely not a done deal," Cayden said in an interview during the Holiday Hoopsgiving showcase in December 2023. "I have my own path that I need to take, and if I go to Duke, then that’s what happens. I’m not a lock to go anywhere."

The most favored programs by the Boozer brothers

Despite the Hurricanes and the Gators swooping in, Duke and Kentucky remain the top favorites to land the Boozer brothers.

The Blue Devils have pursued Cayden Boozer since he was in eighth grade, while Kentucky recruited him while John Calipari was head coach. However, Calipari's move to Arkansas has put a spanner in the works.

The brothers have also visited Miami, witnessed scrimmages and interacted with the roster.

The Florida Gators might be the least exciting landing spot on the surface, but they are a hometown program with a young coaching staff and fast-paced game style that may appeal to the brothers.
