Iowa's Jada Gyamfi poses as a "happy girl" in latest swimwear outfit from Mexico
As the Iowa Hawkeyes take their 6-0 record to Mexico for the Cancun Challenge during the Thanksgiving holidays, Jada Gyamfi found some time to sunbathe. The junior forward uploaded a series of pictures of her in swimwear during the team trip.
"Happy girl!" Gyamfi captioned the post.
Aside from her floral swimwear, Gyamfi was also wearing sunglasses, which she put on top of her head in one of the photos.
Jada Gyamfi is making the most out of Iowa’s latest set of road games. She posted a brief video on her TikTok account before the team left for Cancun and kept the fans engaged throughout the trip.
The Hawkeyes will play the Rhode Island Rams on Thursday before facing the BYU Cougars for a back-to-back at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Rhode Island (4-3) is on a two-game win streak after defeating Brown Bears and UMass Lowell River Hawks. BYU (5-1) suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday and will play Rice Owls before facing Jada Gyamfi and the Hawkeyes.
Ten teams from the Division I circuit travel to Mexico each year to participate in the weekend tournament. It is the Hawkeyes’ fifth stint in the tournament (2007, 2010, 2013, 2016). The program was slated to visit Cancun when it was led by Caitlin Clark in 2021 before it was canceled due to the pandemic.
Former teammate Gabbie Marshall donned a custom tee to hype Jada Gyamfi
As the Iowa Hawkeyes battled the Virginia Tech Hokies on Nov. 10 in North Carolina, former program stars Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin were in the stands. Marshall, who is also good friends with Jada Gyamfi, donned a custom tee to cheer the junior.
“Jada Hype Girl,” the t-shirt read.
Gyamfi and Marshall bonded during Marshall’s last two years with the program. The two were monumental in the Hawkeyes’ recent success in the Division I women’s basketball space. Marshall, a reliable sharpshooter, was a complementary piece for Caitlin Clark and Iowa’s offense.
While Gyamfi did not see enough action to have a continuous impact on the stat sheet, she was appreciated by the players and coach for bringing positive energy to the locker room and maintaining morale.
Gyamfi is enjoying the most court time in her career this season, averaging 5.3 minutes per game while putting up 2.5 points on 50.0% shooting.
