Iowa’s Kylie Feuerbach shares a “totally candid and natural” snap with teammate Lucy Olsen
Iowa star Kylie Feuerbach has been enjoying a little time left in the offseason before her senior year kicks into high gear. Her bonding with Iowa's senior transfer Lucy Olsen appears to be going well as Feuerbach shared a glimpse of their dynamic on Instagram.
On Saturday, the 6-foot-guard posted playful and candid snapshots on her Instagram story with her teammate Olsen, who joined the Hawkeye this April after three seasons at Villanova.
"totally a candid and natural. Totally......@lucy3olsen" Kylie wrote.
The duo, along with another of their friends, enjoyed a day out at Wilson’s Apple Orchard & Farm in Iowa City at the weekend. In the picture, Olsen, dressed in all black, can be seen smelling flowers.
Meanwhile, Kylie Feuerbach is wearing a green-colored crop top and blue jeans as she stands in the back holding a drink. The background features rows of trees in the orchard under a clear blue sky.
Olsen reposted Feuerbach's story onto her own, adding the caption:
"So photogenic."
The red-shirt senior from Sycamore, Illinois, spent a season at Iowa State before transferring to Iowa for her sophomore year.
She averaged 3.4 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in her first season with the Hawkeyes. However, her junior season did not go as expected as she suffered an ACL injury and missed the entire season.
Kylie Feuerbach and Lucy Olsen credit Caitlin Clark for their move to Iowa
Kylie Feuerbach and Lucy Olsen joined Iowa from their respective schools. Both have cited WNBA Rookie of the Year and former Iowa star Caitlin Clark as a key factor in their decision to join the Hawkeyes.
"I had played with Caitlin, she had been my point guard obviously for attack in the past, and I knew, kind of just like the work ethic and the coaches. I just knew the culture, obviously, was insanely good," Kylie said on the Fresh Tawk podcast with Jada Gyamfi this week.
On the other hand, this year's transfer, Olsen, who averaged 23.3 ppg, 4.8 rbg, and 3.8 apg at Villanova last season, revealed Clark's presence at Iowa played a major role in her landing at Iowa City.
"They were so fun to watch. Caitlin Clark was so amazing,” Lucy told Hawkcentral … And I tried to learn from Caitlin. Every night, just trying to learn from her. I tried to pick up her change of pace and how she does it."
With the departures of starters like Clark, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall, Kylie Feuerbach has the opportunity to play a big role for the Hawkeyes this coming season.
