Is Cooper Flagg the best player on the USA Select team? Anonymous NBA HC gives one-word response

Duke freshman Cooper Flagg stole the show for the USA Select Team against the USA Men’s Olympic team during the practice scrimmages on Monday. His remarkable display has since made waves across the internet.

Flagg, who committed to Duke last year, has yet to play a single game in college basketball but he has already made an impact against NBA greats. The buzz surrounding Flagg has intensified following a tweet from an NBA insider, Marc J. Spears.

"Was Cooper Flagg the best player on the USA Select Team? One current NBA head coach in attendance said yes," Spears tweeted Monday.

However, the ESPN writer did not reveal the name of the head coach who affirmed Flagg's prowess, signaling he might be the best player on the team.

Cooper Flagg showed why he is the potential no 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft on day 2 of scrimmages. Flagg stood out, helping the Select Team make a comeback against NBA stars. However, they were unfortunate as the Select Team lost by a single point, 74-73.

"I'm confident in my ability and my skill. So yeah, at the end of the day I'm confident in who I am and what I can do," Flagg said per Yahoo Sports.
"It's some pressure — I wouldn’t say pressure, kinda a surreal feeling to be able to share the court. I'm blessed to have this opportunity and to be here," Flagg shared his experience playing against NBA players. "So just knowing I could go out here and compete, I kinda had no worries. I didn't put no pressure on myself, just because I'm here for a reason. I'm confident, I was just playing ball."

Cooper Flagg makes highlight plays against Anthony Davis

Cooper Flagg, a 6-foot-9 Duke forward, is all over social media after a video of him went viral with over 2.5 million views on X. In a tweet shared by Ben Golliver, an NBA writer for the Washington Post, Flagg nailed a 3-pointer over Lakers star Anthony Davis.

Another video, in which Flagg dunks on Davis, has 1.6 million views on Twitter. After dribbling on the left wing, he tried to shoot over Davis, but Davis blocked it. Flagg got the ball back and passed it to teammate Brandin Podziemski from the Warriors. Podziemski then passed to a moving Flagg, who dunked over Davis.

Flagg not only contributed on offense but also had the responsibility of defending Devin Booker and Kawhi Leonard.
