Is Cooper Flagg playing in the USA Men’s Basketball Select Team in 2024?

The USA Men's Basketball Select Team has been announced to help train the USA Basketball Men's National Team ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Cooper Flagg is an incoming freshman for the Duke Blue Devils. Flagg is one of the players named to the select team.

Flagg made the team and is the only non-NBA or NBA G League player to make the roster. This should help Flagg grow as a player as he will compete with some of the highest talents in the basketball world before even stepping foot on a college basketball court.

Below is the full list of players who were selected to the USA Men's Basketball Select team:

  • Cooper Flagg
  • Jalen Duren
  • Langston Galloway
  • Nigel Hayes-Davis
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis

  • Brandon Miller
  • Trey Murphy
  • Keegan Murray
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • Micah Potter
  • Payton Prichard
  • Jabari Smith Jr.
  • Jalen Suggs
  • Amen Thompson

Cooper Flagg is the first collegiate player to be a participant in the USA's senior national team program in more than a decade since Doug McDermott and Marcus Smart in 2013.

What should people expect from Cooper Flagg as a member of the USA Men's Basketball Select Team?

Being a part of the USA Men's Basketball Select Team roster is exciting for Cooper Flagg. He has done something that has not been done in more than 10 years.

But this should not be viewed as anything more than an opportunity for him to learn and grow before ever getting to suit up for the Duke Blue Devils. He will not be part of the USA Men's Basketball Olympic team for the Paris Games but he can improve his game by training with them.

This is an incredible opportunity for him to work out and compete against some of the world's greatest basketball players and it will only do him good in the long run.
