“It missed you”: UConn star Paige Bueckers showers love on teammate Caroline Ducharme's latest IG post
UConn senior Paige Bueckers is thrilled about the return of her teammate Caroline Ducharme who is recovering from a head injury. Bueckers recently expressed her excitement to have her back on the court.
Ducharme missed the majority of the last season after suffering a head injury in November. On Monday, the UConn redshirt junior posted several photos from the Huskies' practice session as she continues her road to recovery. It was the first time Ducharme had been on the court since her injury.
"missed this 💙" Caroline captioned the post with excitement.
Paige Bueckers, a two-time Big East Player of the Year, was quick to shower love on her teammate after the post on Instagram.
"It missed you," Paige commented.
Most of the images on the post highlighted Ducharme practicing shooting drills and going through conditioning. After two solid seasons at Connecticut, she was poised to have even larger roles with the Huskies as an upperclassman before the injury setback.
"I'm confident that this is the best decision so I can continue to play the sport I love at UConn and professionally," Caroline said in a statement after making a tough decision to let go the entire season due to injury.
"As hard as it is to be away from the court until the 2024-25 season, I'm always supporting my team and I can't wait to rejoin them on the court next season."
Besides Paige Bueckers, several other current and former players like KK Arnold, Nika Muhl and Azzi Fudd also expressed their support for Ducharme.
"Missed you mom❤️," KK wrote.
"My beautiful brain ❣️," Nika commented.
"I missed seeing this😍," Azzi added.
Despite showing positive recovery signs, Ducharme along with other injured Huskies Azzi Fudd and Aubrey Griffin will not be fit to play the first few games of the upcoming season, per coach Geno Auriemma.
Paige Bueckers always shows support for her teammates
Paige Bueckers, who will play her final season of college basketball, is also widely admired for the unwavering support she constantly exhibits for fellow UConn teammates.
Last week, she commented on Caroline Ducharme's photos from the University of Connecticut's media day, writing: "Run it back" with the smirking face emoji.
Bueckers also hopped in the comments of teammate Azzi Fudd's Instagram post from a week earlier. Fudd shared snapshots from their appearance at the Tombogo Spring/Summer event in New York.
Furthermore, the Edina, Minnesota native cheered on KK Arnold's media day post on Instagram.
