John Calipari’s Arkansas, Bruce Pearl’s Auburn, and Hubert Davis’ North Carolina all show interest in 5-star Caleb Wilson

Five-star recruit Caleb Wilson is a highly regarded power forward from Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-9 athlete is keeping his recruitment options wide open. On Monday, basketball insider Adam Zagoria reported that Arkansas coach John Calipari, along with assistants Chin Coleman and Kenny Payne, paid a visit to Wilson in the last week.

According to Zagoria's post on X, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl and North Carolina coach Hubert Davis have also made recent appearances to evaluate Wilson.

“Caleb also had an ‘impressive’ official (visit) to Ohio State this past weekend, his dad tells me,” Zagoria reported.

The Wilson family is currently working on setting up a visit to another SEC school and expanding Caleb's recruitment options. During the college basketball season, the recruitment process for high school athletes slows down due to busy schedules. However, elite college coaches understand the importance of having top recruits like Wilson.

Caleb Wilson is fishing attention of coaches with recruiting gameplan

Caleb Wilson is a 6-foot-9 power forward ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He is a key member of the Nightrydas Elite AAU team, which recently won the Peach Jam championship.

His performance positioned him as a top-10 national recruit and attracted the attention of high-level schools across the country. After showcasing his talent, Ohio State coach Jake Diebler traveled to Atlanta to observe Wilson. The official visit to Columbus took place last weekend, allowing Wilson and his family to experience the program firsthand.

Jerry Wilson, Caleb's father, reflected on the importance of the visit.

“More than anything, getting to know Jake and the staff, getting a really detailed look at the Ohio State University … it was a great scene for us,” he said.

The Wilsons arrived in Columbus on Friday morning, touring the campus and exploring academic and athletic facilities. Caleb also observed basketball practice and enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Their Saturday experience included a full football gameday as Ohio State hosted Nebraska at Ohio Stadium.

This gameday environment allowed Wilson to be a part of the Buckeye community. Among the seven men’s basketball recruits at the game, Wilson was the only one on an official visit.

As the fall recruiting season progresses, Caleb Wilson’s family has embraced the busy schedule. Jerry described it as “not for the faint of heart.”

With the basketball season soon to be in full swing, the excitement surrounding Wilson's recruitment is palpable. Top coaches are making efforts to recruit him, with each visit providing valuable insights into the various programs vying for Caleb's commitment.
