John Calipari, Tom Izzo, and other NCAAB HCs get together to witness 5-star Chris Cenac Jr's on-court dominance
Chris Cenac Jr., a 5-star prospect in the class of 2025, received college offers from around 28 major programs. He was a part of the Pro16 League Playoffs that concluded on Jul. 14 in Phoenix, Arizona, where numerous coaches watched him.
John Calipari and Tom Izzo were among the top NCAAB HCs present to witness his dominance.
Chris Cenac Jr. played high school basketball for Isidore Newman School in New Orleans up until last season. However, he announced that he wanted to continue his high school career at Link Academy on Jun. 14. The No. 6 overall prospect, as per On3, wrote:
"After careful consideration with my family, this was the best decision for me to continue my development. Thank you God!"
Cenac Jr. was the MVP at the 2024 NPBA Top 100 Camp in June and also impressed at the Puma NXTPro Circuit Session 8 in Wichita, Kansas, in May. As a result, he received offers from Ole Miss, Texas, Creighton, Baylor, Alabama and Kansas.
"I know it's a whole new staff, so it's something for me to look into more. I just love the support they get as a school," Cenac told On3 at NXTPro Circuit.
6-foot-10 Cenac was a key player in Newman's victory in the Division II Select State Final against University Lab. He scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in the game and was awarded the Most Outstanding Player at the end of it.
Chris Cenac went from being No. 47 to No. 6
Chris Cenac averaged 18.6 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 1.6 bpg and 1.6 spg in the seven games at the NBPA camp. He entered the tournament as No. 47 overall in the top 100 prospect ranking by On3. However, his performance at the camp saw his ranking boosted to No. 6 overall.
"I just try to show my versatility all of the time," Cenac told Cardinal Authority. "Show that I can defend the one through the five, out the ball on the deck, shoot the three, take a guy off the dribble, post them up, just that I can do everything."
Chris Cenac also made it to the No. 6 position in the power forwards ranking by On3.
