"Joyce got me screaming!!", "They can do no wrong": Fans react to South Carolina team's latest TikTok video before holiday season

The South Carolina Gamecocks (11-1) are all smiles during their national title defense in the 2024-2025 season. They got their 11th win of the year in dominant fashion on Thursday, defeating the unranked Charleston Southern Buccaneers by 36 points, 82-46.

Gaining momentum as SEC games are steadily approaching, the Dawn Staley-coached squad is looking poised for a potential national title repeat this campaign. With the team morale at its highest, they decided to come up with a TikTok video that was reposted on X by @GamecocksPlsWin.

Given the positive nature and vibes exuded from the dances they were doing, fans on social media have since radiated on the Gamecocks' energy.

"They can do no wrong," a fan said.
"Can't blame them. Merry Christmas to all," another fan said.
"CHLOE KITTS ALWAYS TRYING TO BE SHY AND BEING SILLY. BUT, I LOVE MY GAMECOCKS YOUNG LADIES. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY," one user said.

With most of the 2024-2025 South Carolina squad featured on the feel-good clip, one particular player stood out with her talented dance moves: freshman standout Joyce Edwards.

"Joyce got me screaming!!!," one fan said.
"Lmao Joyce in the background gone get popped by Dawn as soon as she see this," another fan said.
"Not Joyce throwin it back. I picked a great team to ogle," one fan said.

It seems as though South Carolina has all the confidence and high spirits right now as they take on conference play in the next few weeks. For now, they set their sights on the Wofford Terriers at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina on Dec. 29.

Joyce Edwards has been a revelation for South Carolina

Edwards, who is in her first year, had one of her best games of the season in the victory over the Buccaneers. Playing off the bench for 21 minutes, she was untouchable from the field with a season-high 20 points, all of which came from her going 6 out of 9 with her two-point attempts and a perfect 8 for 8 from the charity stripe. She also managed to grab six rebounds and two steals on the contest.

The 6'3 forward has been steady for Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks despite just being a rookie. On her first campaign thus far, Edwards is averaging 10.6 points, 5.2 boards and 1.7 steals per game.

Alongside more established players such as MiLaysia Fulwiley and Te-Hina Paopao, the sky is the limit for Edwards, as she can learn and grow with a powerhouse program like South Carolina.
