JuJu Watkins Stats Tonight - How did USC star fare vs Cal Baptist? (Dec 3)
JuJu Watkins torched the hoops on Tuesday night, hitting a career-high and school-record nine 3-pointers to lift the No. 6 USC Trojans to a 94-52 victory over the Cal Baptist Lancers at Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
Watkins scored 40 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 9-of-11 from long distance to set a new school standard. She also made 7-of-8 attempts from the free throw line while adding six rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 32 minutes.
The 6-foot-2 guard had a slow start to the game, scoring only five points on a triple and two free throws. She provided solid help on defense, blocking two shots to help USC lead by 18, 29-11, in the first quarter.
Watkins caught fire in the second frame, scoring 11 points on three triples and a layup to give the Trojans a 50-20 lead at the half.
She reached 30 points in the third frame, making three more 3-pointers, two layups and a free throw to give USC a 78-36 advantage.
The guard then dropped 10 points — on two triples and four free throws — in the fourth to reach 40 and earned a well-deserved rest in the closing minutes when the result was already settled.

USC kept Cal Baptist winless with a 94-52 demolition on Tuesday night. Watkins sizzled for 40 points to lead the No. 6 Trojans, who improved their home record to 4-1 and 7-1 overall.
Three USC players scored in double figures with Kiki Iriafen tallying 18 points and 10 rebounds. Talia von Oelhoffen added 14 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks while Rayah Marshall contributed 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and five blocks.
As a team, the Trojans shot 52.5%, including 45.8% from 3-pointers (11-of-24). USC made 19-of-27 free throws and dominated the rebounding department, 42-31. The Lindsay Gottlieb-coached squad combined for 20 assists and blocked 12 attempts for a dominating night on the court.
The Lancers remain winless in nine games and dropped to 0-5 in away games.
Up next for the Trojans is their first Big Ten Conference regular-season showdown with former Pac-12 co-member Oregon on Saturday. The game will be played at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon with the Ducks coming off two straight losses to Georgia Tech and South Dakota State.
