"Just the start D": Paige Bueckers reacts to former UConn player Dorka Juhasz special year two post
UConn star Paige Bueckers cheered her former teammate Dorka Juhasz as she finished her second year as a pro basketball player. The Minnesota Lynx selected Juhasz as the sixteenth pick in last year's WNBA draft.
On Saturday, the Hungarian forward shared a post on Instagram featuring several photos from her yearbook in the WNBA.
"To a special season with some really special people. Year two in the books. All love, Minny!" Dorka captioned the post with two heart emojis.
Paige Bueckers, who played alongside Juhasz for a season during their time together at Connecticut, reacted to the photos.
"Just the start D❤️," Paige commented.
Earlier this month, the Minnesota native shared a myriad of pictures from UConn photoshoot day on her Instagram.
"Oldhead year," Paige wrote as captioned as he enters her final year of college basketball.
Several of Bueckers' past and current teammates reacted to the post including Dorka Juhasz.
"Let’s get itttt 🔥🔥🤩," she commented.
Juhasz joined UConn from Ohio State while Bueckers was in her second year of college basketball. Together, they guided the Huskies to the final of the NCAA tournament, but fell short against South Carolina.
Juhasz came so close to winning her first WNBA championship this season with the Lynx. Minnesota made it into Game 5 of the Finals against the New York Liberty but fell short in the deciding game. She scored two points and grabbed a rebound in a Game 4 win.
Paige Bueckers shared her excitement going into her final year
UConn's Paige Bueckers has pressure to fill the void left by the departure of star players Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese as the new face of women's college basketball.
Bueckers was phenomenal last season averaging 21.9 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Huskies and winning Big East Player of the Year. This will be her final year in college, giving her one last shot at the national championship.
''I have loved my entire time at UConn,'' Paige said at the Big East media day this week. ''I can't imagine it coming to an end so I try not to worry about the past, I don't try to worry about the future, I try to stay where I am.''
Paige Bueckers had the option to go for the WNBA draft earlier this year but elected to return to Storrs for her senior season as one unfinished business remains, bringing home the national title.
