"Just tryna get my name out there": Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony determined to make an impact on college coaches & NBA scouts

Kiyan Anthony provided a glimpse of what he can do with the ball in front of more than 300 college coaches and NBA scouts, dropping 42 points in an NBPA Top 100 Camp scrimmage in Orlando last June. The highlights of the amazing feat were shown in the latest episode of Overtime's "The Evolu7ion: Kiyan Anthony" on Saturday.

The four-star Long Island Lutheran prospect torched the hoops on the first day, making 15 of 28 shots from the field, including 4 of 9 from the 3-point line. Anthony, who saw action for 26 minutes, grabbed seven rebounds and dished off six assists to help his team secure a 120-109 victory.

The next day, the son of Syracuse legend and former NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points, but he went 15 of 39 and 3 of 9 from deep. Kiyan Anthony had three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 37 minutes, and his team lost.

The games were played in front of 350 college coaches and NBA scouts who were keeping their tabs on the best prep prospects in the camp. Anthony's 77-point outburst in two days was fuelled by his determination to make an impact on the college coaches and NBA scouts watching the camp.

"The college coaches that will come today it's 350 and definitely more exposure just 'tryna get my name out there," Kiyan Anthony said [13:45-13:54].

He described the camp as outside of Disneyland in Orlando, but they were locked in for one week to train and talk about basketball.

"You got to make sacrifices if you really want to make it to the elite," he said. [14:13-14:16]

The 6-foot-5 guard could also use this as his leverage for lucrative NIL deals in the NCAA and the NBA once he decides to turn professional.

Kiyan Anthony meets Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum

During the episode, Kiyan Anthony had a chance to meet Boston Celtics superstar and former Duke forward Jayson Tatum, who appeared on his father's podcast. They've had a short interview wherein Kiyan asked Tatum who's going to win a race-to-11 one-on-one match between a prime Carmelo Anthony and Tatum.

The Boston Celtics star answered he'll win the pick-up game, 11-8. Tatum then asked Kiyan who would win the one-on-one between them if their 17-year-old selves went to play, the young star boldly claimed he would win the game and held it back.

"It's cool hanging out with Tatum. I'll definitely going to use his advice (going into the Orlando camp)," Kiyan Anthony said [3:36-3:41].

The young player has been making waves in the high school circuit, and this has helped him to be recognized as one of the most sought-after high school recruits for the 2025 class. He ranks as the sixth-bast shooting guard and 28th overall in the nation, as per 247Sports Composite.
