Kiyan Anthony accepts LeBron James and Bronny will beat him and Carmelo in a hypothetical 2 vs. 2 game
After Bronny James, Kiyan Anthony could be the next star kid to enter the NBA. While many fans would suggest an older generation vs. the young guns matchup, Overtime's latest post about Anthony suggests a different matchup altogether.
When asked about the outcome of the 2v2 between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony's father-son duo, Kiyan Anthony handed the win to Bronny James and LBJ.
"I think Bron and Bronny will win, to be honest just because Bron is still in the league. He is still doing what he doing. I don't know, it will be a close game, I feel like it will be like 11-8, 11-7," Anthony said.
Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James have known each other since their childhood, which was one of the reasons behind their team-up during the 2021-22 NBA season. Moreover, they were one of the first superstars to display friendship and camaraderie on and off the court, all while keeping the competitiveness of the games alive.
Kiyan Anthony might be right about the hypothetical 2v2 at the time. Anthony retired last year, while James continues to forge a route to another NBA championship. Moreover, Bronny James is set to don a Los Angeles Lakers jersey while the younger Anthony is still a young high school kid in comparison.
Kiyan Anthony scored 42 points against the nation's best young players
Kiyan Anthony recently competed for the final Team USA U17 roster for the World Cup. While being recognized as one of the top talents in the nation, the 17-year-old competes for a spot against players like Abdul Aziz Olajuwon, Tajh Ariza, Alijah Arenas, the Boozer Twins and Bryce James.
However, despite impressing the scouts, Bryce and Anthony could not make the cut.
Nevertheless, when the top 100 players were invited to a ball at the NBPA Camp in June, Anthony put his skills to light by scoring 42 points in a game right before dropping 35 in the next one.
The 100 players were divided into 10 teams in the 5-day event. Anthony stood out to be the best scorer of them all, leading the Top 100 Camp’s scoring chart with 28.5 points across 8 games.
