Kiyan Anthony admits meeting Barack Obama, Rihanna and Beyonce, making Angel Reese envious
Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, was a guest on Chicago Sky star Angel Reese's "Unapologetically Angel" podcast on Thursday. The two chatted about his childhood experiences as the son of two celebrities, how he spends his days in New York, how Kiyan's dad's Team Melo helped him realize his NBA dreams, etc.
While the two talked about lighthearted topics like if there were any potential suitors reaching out to Kiyan on Instagram DM, Reese asked him the list of celebrities he would like to meet.
"Who's somebody you want to meet? Like, who's like a celebrity that you haven't met that you would like to meet," asked Angel. (32:36)
Angel said she would like to meet Rihanna and Beyoncé someday and asked Kiyan if he'd ever met them. He admitted to meeting the Grammy-winning singers, which surprised her.
"I feel like I met everybody. Just being around my parent, them going to, if it's rappers, them going to concerts, if it's a basketball player, going to the games," Kiyan said.
When Kiyan Anthony revealed that he had met former US president Barack Obama, Angel replied:
"Damn."
Kiyan Anthony talked about struggling against Jake West and Team Final
Carmelo Anthony's son was one of the best performers at Nike EYBL Peach Jam in South Carolina, averaging 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for Team Melo. But when he and his teammates played against Jake West and Team Final in July, they defeated them by one point.
The loss was a difficult one for Kiyan and his teammates to forget, who talked about it at length on his Overtime show in October.
"First quarter, they was killing us," said Anthony. "I know why. They had a perfect scheme against us. I couldn't even get to the basket." (13:51 - 14:15)
Team Melo's slow start helped Team Final gain momentum and leave their rivals behind. Even though there were sparks of impressiveness, Team Melo could not do enough to beat Jake West and Team Final.
Kiyan Anthony is expected to reveal his choice of school in the upcoming weeks. He took official visits to Syracuse and the USC Trojans but has not come down to a decision yet.
