No. 5 UCLA pulled off the upset win over Dawn Staley's South Carolina despite Betts having her lowest-scoring game for the Bruins this season.

Bruins crush Gamecocks despite Lauren Betts' low-scoring first half
Lauren Betts scored just three points in the first half but that didn't stop the Bruins from running riot against the Gamecocks during that period.
UCLA scored the first basket and never looked back, building a 20-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bruins continued their dominance in the second quarter, extending their lead to 21 points as they recorded a 43-22 advantage at the break.
South Carolina never threatened in the second half as the Bruins handed Staley and the Gamecocks their first loss since April 2023, when Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeyes defeated them in the NCAA Tournament.
UCLA ends South Carolina's historic winning run
The Bruins snapped the Gamecocks' 43-game winning streak thanks to their balanced offensive attack. Five players scored in double figures for UCLA including Betts, who finished the game with 11 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
Londynn Jones provided firepower off the bench, leading the team in scoring with 15 points. Elina Aarnisalo added 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Kiki Rice and Gabriela Jaquez each contributed 11 points.
Te-Hina Paopao and Tessa Johnson led the Gamecocks, scoring 18 and 14 points, respectively.
