"Love her game and her story": College hoops fans react to Audi Crooks' snaps from Iowa State's tough loss vs UConn clash
Audi Crooks, Iowa State’s dominant 6-foot-3 sophomore center, has shown her defensive schemes on the court. During Iowa State’s Tuesday matchup against No. 4 UConn in the Basketball Hall of Fame Invesco QQ Women’s Showcase, Crooks delivered a strong individual performance. Whether it’s double or triple teams, supported by athletic defenders, Crooks consistently kept scoring.
Despite her team’s 101-68 loss, she showcased her ability to perform under pressure, finishing the game with 22 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, the athlete posted a set of pictures on her Instagram.
Even though the team faced a loss, fans couldn't stop praising the snapshots. Let's see a few of the comments made by her fans:
"I love her game and her story," one said.
"So much aura in first pic holy," another fan said.
"That 1st pic is," someone else said.

"You’re such a lovely young woman Audi! I’m a big fan from Iowa City! Great job representing our home state," another fan said.
This game came shortly after back-to-back 30-point performances by Crooks earlier in December. She recorded 31 points in a closely contested 75-69 loss to No. 21 Iowa, shooting an efficient 14-of-22 from the field.
Just days later, she poured in another 30 points in an 87-55 victory against Eastern Illinois. It marked the first time since Ashley Joens in March 2022, an Iowa State player who had consecutive games with 30-plus points.
Audi Crooks earning recognition and setting records
Audi Crooks’ contributions go far beyond scoring. Her consistent performances have made her the centerpiece of Iowa State’s offense. She currently leads the team in scoring with an average of 21.6 points per game, while also pulling down 8.1 rebounds per game. Across her 45 career games, Crooks has reached double figures in scoring 44 times, amassing 894 career points.
In the previous week, Crooks’ outstanding performances earned her the Big 12 Player of the Week. This marks her first weekly honor of the season and the third of her career. Over the past week alone, she averaged over 30 points per game in two standout performances.
As Iowa State prepares for its upcoming schedule, Crooks remains a critical asset. The team will soon take on Oklahoma State in its Big 12 Conference opener on Dec. 21, following a matchup against UConn at Mohegan Sun Arena on Dec. 19.
