LSU’s Flau'jae Johnson shares motivational Michael Jordan picture, ahead of junior season with the Tigers

After an illustrious summer full of new feats in her musical career, Flau'jae Johnson is ready for her junior year with LSU Tigers. The second-team All-SEC guard averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks last season on 50.4% shooting.

With that, as Johnson prepares to launch an even better stretch in the 2024-25 season, she posted a motivational image of Michael Jordan on her Instagram story.

"Prove Them Wrong, Prove God Right," the quote read.

Flau'jae Johnson was the LSU Tigers' third-leading scorer last season, behind Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow. She will experience a bigger role in the 2024-25 season, as Reese has transitioned to the WNBA.

Moreover, star guard Hailey Van Lith, who was assumed to lead the Tigers upon Reese's exit, transferred to the TCU Horned Frogs earlier this summer.

With that, Johnson will now spearhead a leadership role for the Tigers, alongside Aneesah Morrow. The two guards have already cultivated an on-court camaraderie and are known to hound opposing guards throughout games. Their defensive chemistry resulted in Morrow and Johnson combining for 4.6 steals per game last season.

Flau'jae Johnson will represent LSU on SEC media day

As one of LSU’s on-court and locker-room leaders for the upcoming season, Johnson will join coach Kim Mulkey and teammate Aneesah Morrow for several interviews on the SEC media day on Oct. 16. Some of Johnson’s interviews will be aired on the SEC Network.

Despite spending summer focused on music, Johnson has expressed her desire to balance basketball and music in the future. She dedicated several hours each day to training throughout the summer and collaborated with some of the best trainers in the nation.

LSU retooled its roster through the 2024 freshman class and the transfer portal, but Johnson remains an integral part of the Tigers' culture, mostly due to her time and growth with the program.

LSU begins its season games on Nov. 4 against Eastern Kentucky. Before that, the Tigers will play two exhibition games. They face Xavier on Oct. 24 and LSU-Alexandria on Oct. 30.
