McNeese vs. Alabama: Box score, stats, and summary feat. Grant Nelson (Nov. 11)

The second-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide secured a 72-64 home win over the McNeese Cowboys in nonconference action. The Roll Tide won on the back of forward Grant Nelson leading the charge with 22 points. This game looks much closer than it felt for most of the game.

The Cowboys (1-2) have struggled early on but should have a lot of excitement regarding playing a game close against one of the best teams in the country. The Crimson Tide (3-0) continue to win games and are showcasing an ability to play better defense than they did a year ago.

Let’s take a closer look at the box scores to see how the game went.

McNeese vs. Alabama Game Summary

The McNeese Cowboys shot at a decent level as they connected on 39.3% of their shot attempts. The team was able to keep the rebounds close and won the offensive rebounding battle 12-10 to get some better looks at the rim. The stats were very similar all around so this is a great sign for coach Will Wade’s program.

The Alabama Crimson Tide had a great shooting night from beyond the arc, making 11-of-34 (32.4%) from three. That was the difference in the game as everything else was close. While McNeese played isolation, Alabama had 16 assists on 22 made field goals. They defended without fouling as they had 12 fouls compared to the Cowboys' 22.
