Memphis vs. UConn: Box score, stats, and summary feat. Aidan Mahaney (Nov. 25)

We had an upset in the first round of The Maui Invitational as the Memphis Tigers claimed an overtime 99-97 victory against the No.2 UConn Huskies.

Many of the team’s efforts came from Tyrese Hunter, who scored 17 of his 26 points in the second half/overtime. This game means a lot for both sides as the Tigers compete in the semifinals while the Huskies are off to the losers’s bracket and competing for fifth place.

Memphis (5-0) remains undefeated and has proven it can compete with one of the best college basketball programs in recent memory. UConn (4-1) suffered its first loss, and its defense looked worse this year by far.

Let’s dive deeper into the box scores and discuss how this game played out.
