MiLaysia Fulwiley and JaMeesia Ford met during an official women’s basketball and track and field hangout session in the fall of 2023. The two hit the red carpet together at the Gamecock Gala on April 22, 2024. The couple have shared videos of them dancing and spending time together on TikTok.

Fulwiley is playing her second year at South Carolina and is slowly making her mark on the team. The guard has seen huge growth and is a key piece in the Gamecocks' attempt to defend their 2024 national championship.

Despite being in her second year, MiLaysia Fulwiley still plays restricted minutes and South Carolina coach Dawn Staley spoke on this in an interview with Grenville Online in December.

"You have to understand when and she’s getting to know that process," Staley said. "I don’t expect her to understand it every play every game, I just want her aware of it ... she’s not resisting it, she’s welcoming it because she wants more for herself ... it's never been about 'don’t do this' it’s about ‘add this,' and just complimenting what she already brings to the table.”

MiLaysia Fulwiley and South Carolina extend their winning run

After losing to UCLA, the No. 2 Gamecocks have gone on a roll. They are now on an 11-game winning streak with a 16-1 overall record. Their latest 67-50 win over Texas on Sunday was the first in an upcoming tough stretch of games against ranked teams in the SEC.

MiLaysia Fulwiley and the team are set to take on No. 19 Alabama (16-2, 3-1 Conference) on Wednesday, followed by No. 13 Oklahoma (14-3, 2-2 Conference) on Jan. 19. January wraps for South Carolina with games against No. 5 LSU and No. 15 Tennessee.

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley commented on this run in the pregame presser before the game against Texas.

"I think that the habit of defending is one of our stronger points, Staley said. The habit of sharing the basketball and moving the ball has become a habit. Our ability to rebound has been inconsistent. Our box-out has been inconsistent.
"That’s what we got to get better at – we got to clean up some of those extra opportunities that we’re giving teams. And I think, over the past probably two or three games, we’ve really concentrated on that, but we’re certainly are going to be pushed to the limit with Texas."

South Carolina will travel to Tuscaloosa for Wednesday's game and it will be broadcast on SECN+.
