Mom Kia Brooks has 4-word reaction to daughter Flau'jae Johnson's cute moment with new date on 2025 BET award red carpet

LSU star Flau'jae Johnson had a stellar season with the Tigers last season, leading them to their second consecutive Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. However, she opted to remain in college basketball for an extra year instead of declaring for the WNBA. Johnson has had a busy offseason, releasing new music and coaching at the Overtime Takeover showcase game and the BETX celebrity game last week.

On Monday evening, Johnson also attended the 2025 BET Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Johnson's mother, Kia Brooks, posted a picture of the LSU star on the red carpet with her date for the night, musician Tray Milz. Brooks captioned the post:

"My womb is blessed ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿคต๐Ÿพ!! #MyOldest2 #BetAwards2025 #GodIThankYou #Flaujae #Tray #MomLoveYou #VeryProud," Brooks said.

Despite going to the BET Awards with Tray Milz as her date, Flau'jae Johnson has been in a relationship with LSU Tigers wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr. since last year. The couple has shared supportive posts of each other on various social media platforms since then.

Flau'jae Johnson brings up mum's beef with Angel Reese

In November 2023, Angel Reese was suspended from the LSU Tigers team for four games and speculation swirled around the reason for her absence. An exchange between Reese's mother, Angel Reese Webb, and Flau'jae Johnson's mother, Kia Brooks, on Instagram reinforced the speculation that she had been suspended due to a below-average GPA.

During Monday's segment of the "Breakfast Club," Johnson revealed that she was not friends with the Chicago Sky forward, rehashing the beef between the pair's mothers.

"We not friends, but that bond, that thing that we did together, winning a national championship, you can never take that away from us," said Flau'jae Johnson. "Sometimes, stuff happens. You wish it don't happen, but it do and you just gotta grow.
"I support her and everything that she do. She killin' it in the WNBA. I be on social media, clownin' the folks that be talkin' down on her. I'm just proud of her ... It was a lot of media and locker room stuff (that ended the friendship). Stuff that go on behind the scenes. It happens."

Flau'jae Johnson and Angel Reese parted ways last year when the latter departed for the WNBA via the draft, while the former stayed in Baton Rouge but was unable to lead the LSU Tigers to a national championship like they did together in 2023.
