“My fav hooper”: Kateri Poole reacts to former LSU teammate Angel Reese hooping in black shorts and white t-shirt

Kateri Poole showed her support for former LSU teammate Angel Resse on social media. On Sunday, the Chicago Sky forward posted images of her in training, wearing a pair of black shorts and a white T-shirt from her collaboration with Reebok.

"Pretty girl but she a baller.@reebok," the caption and Reese's shirt read.

Poole celebrated her birthday last week and Angel Reese was one of the many who wished the guard well on Instagram.

"LITERALLY MY MUDBABY! BEEN LOCKED IN SINCE WE WERE KIDS! LOVE YOU FOREVER & EVER! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOOSKIIII @KATERIPOOLE," Reese wrote with a collage of their photos through the years.

Reese spent her first two seasons in Maryland while Poole was with Ohio State. Both players transferred to LSU for their junior year and led the Tigers to the first NCAA championship in history in 2023.

While Reese led LSU on an Elite Eight run last season, Poole was missing in action as coach Kim Mulkey simply said that she would not be playing with the team. The guard transferred to Houston in April.

In an Instagram Live from September, Kateri Poole finally revealed the reason behind her sudden departure.

"Truthfully, [Mulkey] said that I sent in a scouting report to another school," Poole said. "I ain't do that sh*t... I was like, 'What do we do now?' She said, 'You're kicked off.' I said, 'Boom, aight.'"
"She said, 'No longer on the team.' I took it, asked if I could still play. She said 'yep.' Scholarship, boom, was allowed to transfer. Now, I'm at Houston. Please stop asking me about that sh*t."

Kateri Poole to sit out the 2024-25 college season

Kateri Poole played in just four games with LSU last season and fans were eager to see her back in action with the Cougars. However, Houston coach Ronald Hughey revealed in late October that the guard had sustained a knee injury during a scrimmage.

“We are devastated for Kateri. It’s a huge loss because Kateri has worked so hard, and we were looking forward to having Kateri on the court this season,” he said.

The coach also revealed that Poole will return to play her fifth college season in 2025.

“We will be there to support Kateri every step of the way during the recovery process," he said. "We know Kateri will be back stronger than ever next season.”
