"My girl do things yah girl wish she could": Haley Cavinder impresses college hoops fans with dominant display

Haley Cavinder sent Miami fans into a frenzy on Sunday after she powered the Hurricanes to an 83-74 overtime victory over the Quinnipiac Bobcats. She helped keep Miami's unbeaten record intact, scoring 30 points in the win.

Cavinder came up clutch in the final minute of regulation, scoring a game-tying 3-pointer with 14.2 seconds left to force overtime. The Hurricanes pulled away in the extra period to record their seventh consecutive win.

College hoops fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to Cavinder's stellar performance against Quinnipiac.

"Contrary to what some ppl think, Haley Cavinder is very good at basketball. She put up 30 today & has been leading her undefeated Miami squad in points & rebounds, while ranking second in assists."
"She is a pro! I really hope the W finds a spot for her. There should be at least 20-25 teams in the league with how much talent that's in women's college Bball right now."

Haley Cavinder off to strong start after rejoining Miami for 2024-25 season

Cavinder has been a revelation for Miami since returning to the team for the 2024-25 NCAA season. She is averaging 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists through seven games for the Hurricanes.

Cavinder has now scored at least 30 points in two of Miami's first seven outings. She dropped a season-high 31 points in Miami's 83-73 win over the Florida Gators on Nov. 16.

Cavinder helps the Hurricanes thwart the Bobcats' late comeback

Cavinder did most of her damage against Quinnipiac after halftime, scoring 19 of her 30 points in the second half and overtime. Miami needed every bit of that offensive production from Cavinder, with the Bobcats nearly pulling off the come-from-behind win in the fourth quarter.
