"My team is obviously down here": Paul George shares his pride while working out with Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan and AJ Dybantsa
Philadelphia 76ers guard-forward and former Fresno State star Paul George was proud to see high school prospects Kiyan Anthony and AJ Dybantsa together in a training he organized during the NBA offseason. The footage of the workout session was posted in the latest episode of "The Evolution: Kiyan Anthony Season 2.0" on Sunday on YouTube.
The players were taught how to use the body to protect the ball and finish an offensive attack with fewer dribbles.
"The workout was good," Kiyan Anthony said. "We're not using too many dribbles just getting to your spot and like just finishing, learning how to use the body and learning how to hide the ball we have real defenders on us." (4:17 onwards)
The nine-time NBA All-Star George was impressed with Kiyan Anthony's workout session along with Utah Prep star Dybantsa, the No. 1-ranked high school prospect in the Class of 2025, and other high school players.
"My team obviously is down here," Paul George said. "Kiyan (is) off to a hot start here. He doing this thing here. So it only makes sense to get in here and try to lock in when we could." (4:04 onwards)
In previous editions of the show, Kiyan Anthony has been raving about the 2013 NBA Most Improved Player and 2019 NBA All-First Team selection, even saying that Paul George is his favorite player and G.O.A.T.
Kiyan Anthony learns something about Paul George in the secret workout he hosted
After the training session, Kiyan Anthony learned something about Paul George's playing style. The Philadelphia 76ers guard always wants to go aggressive every time he handles the leather.
"PG just seeing how every dribble how hard he goes and every rep like they showed me like no excuses like you just got to go hard," the Long Island Lutheran guard said. (4:32 onwards)
Kiyan Anthony, who narrowed down his choices of schools to commit to for the 2025-26 season to USC, Auburn and Syracuse, was named as one of the top six performers in the USA Basketball junior minicamp at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado.
A report from Yahoo! Sports cites the 6-foot-4 son of Carmelo Anthony as a player who has risen steadily in the rankings and performed well against other top players in his batch.
A dynamic scorer who can shoot anywhere on the court, Kiyan Anthony has gotten stronger from the previous season and has become quicker in making decisions, but still needs to bulk up in terms of size as he remains thin by his height.
