Analyst makes feelings known as $12 million worth Dawn Staley heaps praise on Caitlin Clark

Robin Lundberg reflected on Dawn Staley's comments about Caitlin Clark. The Sports Illustrated analyst posted a YouTube video on Friday discussing what the South Carolina coach said about the WNBA star.

Before diving into Staley's comments on Clark, Lundberg congratulated the legendary coach on the release of her memoir "Uncommon Favor." He pointed out that Staley, who has a net worth of $12 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), talked about the former Iowa star and her impact on South Carolina throughout her book tour.

"Staley had several comments about Caitlin Clark on this tour that were all very, very complimentary," Lundberg said. "Considering the source, obviously, those are worth a lot."

Lundberg referenced an interview where Staley discussed the pain of her Gamecocks falling to Clark's Hawkeyes in the 2023 Final Four. Clark contributed 41 points in the 77-73 win. Staley called it the toughest loss of her career, but Lundberg reminded fans that South Carolina bounced back to win the national title the next year.

"She got her revenge right?" Lundberg said. "Congratulations to Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks for doing that. They earned that national championship. They were clearly the best team, but you could see the impact of what Clark was able to do with that Iowa program against a juggernaut like South Carolina."

Lundberg then moved forward from Clark's college career to talk about her dominance in the WNBA. He pointed to an interview Staley did with Sports Illustrated where she boldly claimed that Clark will go down as one of the best of all time, and that triple-doubles will become a regular occurance for her.

"Caitlin Clark, I think, could average a triple double like it's in her capabilities," Lundberg said. "The only thing keeping her back from that is the length of WNBA games, but Dawn Staley is right on in her assessment."

Lundberg praised Clark's court vision and her ability to make her teammates better. He also said that these skills pair well with her shooting ability, size and strength.

Staley further hyped up Clark in a radio interview. She shared that she believes Clark will go down as one of the best women players of all time, and that she has grown the game.

"A lot of credit there," Lundberg said. "A lot of kind words there from Dawn Staley."

Dawn Staley discusses WNBA replay feature following Caitlin Clark foul

Dawn Staley recently got real on her thoughts on the replay feature in women's basketball. The South Carolina coach was asked about it during an appearance on the radio show "The Breakfast Club."

Staley and the hosts discussed the foul fiasco between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese on May 17. Clark was whistled for a foul when she prevented Reese from scoring a layup, resulting in Reese falling to the floor. The foul was upgraded to a Flagrant 1. The veteran coach gave her take on the replay feature, which was used do classify the foul.

"I like it because officials make mistakes," Staley said on May 22. "It allows them to be corrected because they're wrong."

The situation between Clark and Reese was controversial, but Staley used it as an opportunity to discuss the value of replays.
