“New hobby”: Iowa’s Kylie Feuerbach, Lucy Olsen, and Hannah Stuelke enjoy a scenic golf date
Lucy Olsen seems to be settling in well with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Yesterday, the talented guard spent some quality time with new teammates Kylie Feuerbach and Hannah Stuelke, with the trio heading out to Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, Iowa to enjoy a day of golf amid terrific weather conditions.
Olsen shared a picture of Stuelke and Feuerbach at the stunning 18-hole golf course, which Feuerbach later reshared on her own Instagram story, terming their golfing outing a "new hobby."
Feuerbach also shared a story of Stuelke teeing off at one of the 18 holes, with the latter narrowly missing a shot from distance.
Olsen seems to have developed a good bond with her new teammates in Iowa, as she also shared a post on Instagram last month where she enjoyed some of the sights of her new home with them.
She also enjoyed a taco night in June with Stuelke and Feuerbach, who seem to be emerging as the teammates she shares the closest bond with.
Lucy Olsen to fill in the gap left by Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark enjoyed a phenomenal 2023-24 season with the Hawkeyes, helping them make the championship game of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.
Following the recently concluded season where she won the Naismith Women's College Player of the Year Award among other top honors, the Indiana Fever made her the top overall pick in this year's WNBA Draft.
Lucy Olsen might just be the best replacement for Clark at Iowa. She excelled at Villanova in the 2023-24 season, averaging an astonishing 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals in 35 starts.
Touted as one of the top prospects for next year's WNBA Draft, Olsen will be keen to make a solid impression at Iowa in the upcoming season.
The Hawkeyes will usher in a new era of women's basketball as Lisa Bluder retired after serving as their head coach for nearly 25 years. New coach Jan Jensen has a talented roster to work with and will look to lead the Hawkeyes to a maiden NCAA Tournament win in the 2024-25 season.
