Aaliyah Chavez is the first HS female player to write the SLAM diary
One of the success stories from her recent run in August was the SLAM’s Classic run at Rucker Park, New York. Even though Kiyan Anthony and Jerzy Robinson won the 2v2 contest, Chavez put on a show in the full-court run.
While doing that, the 5-foot-11 guard made history when she was invited to write the SLAM Basketball Diary.
It is a decades-long tradition for the best AAU-level players to leave their mark. However, until this August, it was always penned by male high school players. Chavez chose to create history by sharing her journey to her 3000th high school point and her after-party with her father at her favorite food joint, Wingstop, alongside several inside details on her life and mindset.
Aaliyah Chavez is the most sought-after recruit in the coming class and has narrowed down her list to the LSUTigers, Texas Longhorns, South Carolina Gamecocks, UCLA Bruins, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oklahoma Sooners. She is set for a busy senior year and is expected to declare her commitment before February 2025.
