Paige Bueckers shares Michelle Obama’s last voting plea

Paige Bueckers jumped onto the Election Day bandwagon with her latest Instagram story on the nation. While the United States decides between Democrat candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump, the UConn star shared ex-FLOTUS Michelle Obama's plea to voters through social media.

On Tuesday morning, Obama shared a post on Instagram that featured polling place hours for every state and the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. Along with this critical information, Obama also shared an important message to voters, reminding them of how proud she was for making the effort to have a say in the future of the country.

"November 5th is the LAST day to make your voice heard in this year’s election, and we all have a role to play. Whether you’re getting ready to cast your ballot, texting your #VotingSquad reminders to go vote, or serving as a poll worker — I’m so proud of you," wrote Obama.

Bueckers shared Obama's post on her Instagram story, avoiding any words of her own while getting the message out to her 2 million followers.

Voting was underway across each state on Tuesday as voters decide whether Trump will return to power or Harris will become the first female president of the United States. The first polls will conclude at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and the final polls at 1 a.m. EST on Wednesday.

Although she was eligible for this year's WNBA draft, Paige Bueckers forewent the opportunity to go pro, opting to stay at Storrs for another season. Touted as a top pick for next year's draft, she is eager to win a coveted national championship, which has eluded her throughout her career at UConn.

After missing out on the 2022-23 season due to an ACL injury, Bueckers made an exceptional comeback last season. She averaged 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.4 blocks in 35 starts, playing various positions for the injury-hit Huskies to power them to the Final Four.

Bueckers' impressive performances earned her unanimous first-team All-American honors for the second time and the Big East Player of the Year award. She will begin her quest to try winning her maiden national championship on Thursday, when the Huskies take on the Boston University Terriers in Storrs.
