Paige Bueckers stats tonight: How did the UConn star fare vs Iowa State (Dec. 17)
UConn star Paige Bueckers put up excellent stats in the Huskies' 101-68 win over the Iowa State Cyclones in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The 6-foot guard scored 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-7 from the 3-point line and 2-of-2 from free throws to help UConn grab its 10th win of the 2024-25 women's college basketball season.
Bueckers lit up the stats sheet early, scoring nine points on three 3-pointers as the Huskies built a 36-10 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Hopkins, Minnesota native added another nine points in the second quarter on a 3-pointer, two layups and two free throws to conclude the first half with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field.
She resumed her assault in the third frame, putting up seven points and two rebounds to help UConn establish an 81-52 lead. She'd play in the early minutes of the fourth quarter and score on a layup and passed to Kaitlyn Chen, who scored on a layup for an 88-57 advantage.
UConn coach Geno Auriemma subbed out Bueckers in the 6:47 mark as the Huskies coasted along in the final minutes to take home the victory.

Sarah Strong, Ashlynn Shade and Paige Bueckers combined for 83 points to lead UConn to a 33-point victory over Iowa State in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Tuesday.
No. 1 freshman Strong dropped a career-high of 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 5-of-9 from the 3-point line and 4-of-5 from free throws to lead UConn's offense to their 10th win in 11 games. The forward, who took home the MVP honors, finished with nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes.
Shade also finished with a career-high 27 points on 10-of-13 (7-of-10 from 3-pointers) shooting and came up with two rebounds and four assists while Bueckers also fired 27 for the Huskies, who shot 56.9% as a group and 20-of-34 from 3-point range.
UConn was ahead in all statistical departments, ruling the rebounds (33-24), assists (27-21), steals (9-3) and blocks (3-0) while also running away with fast break points 14-1.
Meanwhile, Audi Crooks led the 9-4 Iowa State Cyclones with 22 points while Sydney Harris added 17.
