
“Reincarnated”, “Does she hoop like her?”: College hoops fans react as Sarah Strong’s workout snap resembles legend Maya Moore
Comparisons between Sarah Strong and Maya Moore have persisted since Strong joined UConn for the 2024-25 season. The discussion resurfaced Friday when B/R W Sports shared an Instagram post featuring a fan's reaction, noting Strong's striking resemblance to Moore in a workout photo.

The post featured two photos of Strong in action with UConn, alongside comparisons to Moore's moves with the Minnesota Lynx. The Instagram page added a short caption, and the post has already surpassed 5,000 likes.
"What y'all think?" the Instagram page asked.
Fans had various reactions to the Moore and Strong connection.

"Does she hoop like her?" one fan asked.
"Reincarnated," another fan chimed in.
"I have literally thought of this for a long time. I am glad someone said it," one fan replied.
"Been saying this since the beginning of the college season," another fan commented.
"Thought Maya was making a comeback. The league would be cooked," one fan shared.
"Nah that's crazy.. Baby Maya fr," another fan posted.
Strong showed she is a winner like Moore in April after she led the UConn Huskies to their 12th national championship. She wreaked havoc against the South Carolina Gamecocks in their title showdown, posting 24 points, 15 boards, five dimes, three blocks and two steals in UConn's 82-59 victory.

Maya Moore joined the UConn Huskies ahead of the 2007-08 NCAA season and established herself as one of Geno Auriemma's key players. Moore led the Huskies in scoring in her freshman year, averaging 17.8 points through 38 games. She also contributed in other departments, averaging 7.6 boards, 3.1 dimes, 1.7 steals and 1.6 blocks in her first year in Storrs.

Sarah Strong also posted impressive numbers in her freshman season with UConn. She averaged 16.4 points and a team-best 8.9 boards through 40 games. Strong also made her presence felt on the defensive end, leading the Huskies in steals and blocked shots. She shot 58.6% from the field, including 38.8% from beyond the arc in her first year under Auriemma.
