“Sarah (Strong) is so cutesy”: College hoops fans lovingly react to UConn’s freshman’s goofy side at media day
Sarah Strong is arguably the most exciting prospect from the class of 2024. While the UConn Huskies fans are eager to see what the top prospect in the nation can bring to the table, she won the hearts of a fair share of them on media day.
In snippets posted by the program's official Instagram account, Strong joked around with Huskies talisman Paige Bueckers, as the duo shared fun moments at the event, from sitting together for pictures to taking subtle digs at each other during Bueckers' address to the media.
She also shared funny moments with Azzi Fudd and Ashlynn Shade, urging them to scream at the camera like she did during her photoshoot. Fans took to Instagram almost instantly after the Huskies uploaded their post, appreciating her personality with kind comments.
"Sarah is so cutesy," said one fan.
"I’m about to become Sarah’s number one fan rn," said another.
Another fan added, "Sarah is an intro but is cute haha."
Other fans showed how eager they were to see her take to the court, showing their happiness with her decision to join the 11-time national champions this season.

Sarah Strong enjoyed an exceptional high school basketball career
Sarah Strong emerged as a strong forward during her high school basketball career. After playing her freshman year at Furquay-Varina High, she led Grace Christian High to three straight NCISAA state titles, averaging a staggering 21.0 points, 16.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.8 blocks per game during her career.
Strong won the Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year Award two years in a row (2023 and 2024), and was named this year's Naismith High School Player of the Year.
Strong also earned McDonald's, Naismith, SLAM and Jordan Brand All-American honors this year, leading the East to a 98-74 victory over the West in the McDonald's All-American game this April. She shared the MVP award of that game with the Class of 2024's No. 3 prospect per ESPNw 100, Joyce Edwards.
Strong will begin her freshman season with the Huskies with a home game against the Boston University Terriers on November 7.
