Shaq’s son Shareef O'Neal drops 4-word reaction to promote $5.83 billion company
Shareef O'Neal, NBA great Shaquille O'Neal's son, promoted Crocs on his socials on Friday. Sharing a picture of him wearing black Crocs on his Instagram story, O'Neal tagged the company, which is valued at $5.83 billion per Forbes, and wrote:
"Crocs got me right."
Shareef O'Neal played three years in college with two programs. He spent his freshman season with the UCLA Bruins before transferring to Shaq's alma mater, LSU, for his sophomore and junior years.
O'Neal saw little time on the court, averaging 11.0 minutes through his career. He averaged 2.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.1 assists. In 2022, Shareef O'Neal left college and joined the NBA G League Ignite. In October 2024, the forward signed with the Sacramento Kings.
O'Neal's playing career is nothing short of a miracle, as he was diagnosed with a right anomalous coronary artery in 2018. This is a life-ending congenital heart condition that could have ended horribly for him if left undiscovered.
After he underwent surgery, Shareef O'Neal had to learn basic motor skills, including walking. One year after the episode, he shared his thoughts on Instagram, writing:
"One year has passed since my heart surgery...a year ago today I was scared for my life... a year ago today I was learning to walk again. A year ago today I was turned into a new kid. A year ago today my life changed.
"I thought I was going through hell while dealing with this process but then I realized it was a blessing that it was found."
Shaq admitted his disappointment at missing a chance to play with Shareef O'Neal
LeBron James and his son, Bronny, created history last year when they played together for the LA Lakers. Bronny was drafted at No. 55 and is now in the G League.
On his "The Big Podcast with Shaquille O'Neal," the former Lakers legend admitted to "professional jealousy" over LeBron sharing the court with his son.
"I strive off professional jealousy. I'm jealous a little bit," Shaq said. "My son was in that position. Life is all about titles. I would have loved to have that title first.
"So now that we got that out of the way. I'm happy for Bron. He was always at the crib playing with my boys. He's like a nephew to me. I'm happy for him, but you know, on a professional jealousy side, I wish that was me and Shareef or me and Shaqir, but I'm happy for Bronny and I'm happy for LeBron and I wish them well."
Shaq added that it wasn't just the act of playing but the antics and the celebrations he could enjoy while sharing the court with his son that he missed.
