“She did great even while sick”: UConn fans react to Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd and teammates’ practice snaps

Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies are in New York City for the Women's Champions Classic. Earlier, the program posted a sneak peek of its preparations on social media, attracting the attention of its massive fanbase.

The Huskies shared an Instagram post featuring a few snaps from their latest practice session. The players featured in the post are Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, KK Arnold, Princeton transfer Kaitlyn Chen and Jana El Alfy, the first Egyptian player to represent the program.

Huskies fans took to Instagram within minutes of the post being uploaded, expressing their opinions on the team and some of its players. A few fans shared kind messages for Fudd, who made her highly anticipated return to the court after suffering an ACL injury on November 14 last year.

One fan said, "Hope Azzi is feeling better! She did great even while sick against HC!"
"Wow Azz Fudd..," said another.
Another fan added, "Azziii hope ur feeling better!!"

Others were eager to see the Huskies take the court and greatly appreciated Bueckers and her teammates.

"Went from island gyals to city gyalssss," said one fan.
"Can I have Paige and Azzi underneath my Christmas tree," said another.
Another added, "Can’t wait to see yall play tomorrow!!!"

Paige Bueckers and UConn start 2024-25 season strong

The Huskies have won all seven of their games so far this season. They enjoyed immense success in the Bahamas, scoring a convincing 71-52 victory over the Oregon State Beavers, who made the Elite Eight last season, before scoring a 73-60 victory over the No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels to win the Baha Mar Women's Championship.

Before their trip to the Bahamas, UConn scored a 69-58 win over then-No. 14 North Carolina, tallying a 2-0 record against ranked opponents. Paige Bueckers has arguably stood out for the Huskies, averaging 20.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists this season.

No. 2 UConn will contest their third ranked matchup of the season when they face No. 22 Louisville in the Women's Champions Classic. The game will be played on Saturday at the Barclays Center at 9:00 PM ET.
