Sabrina Ionescu's college career for the Oregon Ducks

Sabrina Ionescu played for the Oregon Ducks from 2016 to 2020, choosing Oregon over powerhouse programs like UConn, Tennessee, Baylor, Washington and Notre Dame. The California native wanted to build a dynasty, not just join one.

From her freshman year, Ionescu made an immediate impact as a starter. She averaged 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game, earning several accolades, including Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, USBWA Freshman of the Year and All-Pac-12.

Her sophomore season was even more impressive. Ionescu led the NCAA in scoring and topped the Pac-12 with 19.7 ppg and 7.8 apg. She also set a Pac-12 single-season record with 298 assists. The achievements earned her the Nancy Lieberman Award, AP All-America honors and her second All-Pac-12 selection.

In the 2018-19 season, Ionescu led the NCAA with 311 assists while averaging a career-best 19.9 ppg, 8.2 apg and 7.4 rpg. That year, she guided Oregon to its first Final Four appearance. Her standout season earned her the Wade Trophy (National Player of the Year), Wooden Award and spots on the WBCA, ESPNW and AP first-team All-America lists.

After an extraordinary college career, Sabrina Ionescu was widely regarded as one of the greatest players in women’s college basketball history. The New York Liberty selected her as the first pick in the 2020 WNBA draft.
