Zia Cooke played four years with the Gamecocks from 2019 to 2023. Bree Hall and Sania Feagin joined South Carolina in 2021 and shared the court with Cooke for two years. They were a part of the school's second NCAA championship-winning squad in 2022.

Cooke averaged 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists with the Gamecocks. She had her best season as a sophomore when she averaged 15.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 2.0 apg. She was selected as the No.10 pick in the 2023 WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Meanwhile, Bree Hall and Sania Feagin are both in their senior years and are on an important mission of leading the team to defend its 2024 national championship win, although the two players are struggling with inconsistency.

“Sometimes, it happens. I do know that this is a real thing,” South Carolina coach Dawn Staley said last month. “When we have our WNBA-eligible players, sometimes, it happens during the season at some point. It hasn’t happened this early. And maybe that’s not what they’re thinking about, but I’m sure they are thinking about it.
"It makes you press, and it gets you out of your normal routine of focusing on the game. Your focus becomes something else.”

Staley said she's had conversations with both, and they showed improvement during a 95-44 win over East Carolina on Nov. 17. Hall finished with 10 points, three rebounds and three steals. Feagin also had 10 points with four rebounds.

Bree Hall struggles and Sania Feagin improves as South Carolina's season progresses

After that game, Bree Hall has still struggled, averaging 6.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg and 1.1 apg. However, Sania Feagin has shown slight improvement, averaging 7.2 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 1.1 apg.

The No. 2 Gamecocks (11-1) are on their winter holiday break and will return to action on Sunday against Wofford.
