Ta'Niya Latson stats - How did Florida State star fare vs Drexel? (Dec 15)

Ta'Niya Latson and the Florida State Seminoles extended their winning streak to two games on Sunday, crushing the Drexel Dragons 101-51 in their nonconference showdown at the Donald L. Tucker Center. Latson was one of four players to score in double figures for the Seminoles, who improved their overall record to 10-2.

Latson scored a game-high 32 points in 32 minutes of action. She also had seven assists and two rebounds in the afternoon matchup. She also displayed her defensive prowess, recording four steals and one block.

Latson shot 13-for-20, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. She struggled with her free-throw shooting, though, making just three of her five attempts at the charity stripe. She entered the contest with an 81.7 free-throw shooting percentage.

Ta'Niya Latson continues scoring spree in Florida State's win over Drexel

Ta'Niya Latson did most of her damage in the first half, scoring 21 of her 32 points during that period. She got the party started for Florida State with a 16-point explosion in the first quarter, helping the Seminoles grab a 32-19 advantage after the opening 10 minutes of play.

Florida State pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Drexel 20-6 to build a commanding 52-25 lead at the break.

Latson has been a vital cog for the Seminoles on the offensive end, scoring at least 20 points in each of the 11 games she has played for Florida State thus far this season.

She has taken her offense to another level lately, recording at least 32 points in games against Tennessee, SMU and Drexel. Latson leads the nation in scoring, averaging 28.9 points per contest.

It wasn't just Latson who punished Drexel’s defense. Makayla Timpson recorded her sixth double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

O'Mariah Gordon matched Timpson's offensive production, scoring 12 points on 5 of 12 shooting. She also had four steals, three assists and two rebounds.

Sydney Bowles delivered off the bench, scoring 14 points on 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. The Seminoles' reserves accounted for 36 of Florida State's 101 points against Drexel.
