Texas Tech basketball new uniforms: Closer look at Red Raiders' jerseys for 2024-25 season
The Texas Tech Raiders' men's basketball unit gave fans the first look at their new jerseys. College Basketball Report posted three renditions of Raiders jersey on X (formerly Twitter), themed around red, white and black base colors.
Kerwin Walton, Chance McMillian and Darrion Williams modeled to highlight the colorways. Williams also spearheaded last season's jersey reveal in October 2023.
"New Texas Tech unis just dropped 👀🌵," the post read.
It looks like the 2024-25 Raiders jerseys are designed with the idea of creating structural harmony and maintaining neatness. The previous season's jerseys showcased old school typography, which saw jersey numbers sandwiched between 'Texas' and 'Tech.'
The current design leans more towards stricking balance and space. Another significant change is the absence of a complimentary colored strip on the sleeve, which now features the same color as the base.
Even though last season's Raiders shorts were a step towards simplicity, the 2024-25 versions have narrowed it down even more. Instead of bold lines of different colors and a program logo, the latest ones feature stripes on their borders with a small Adidas logo.
The Texas Tech athletic department has been working on an apparel deal since last year. Alongside their previous season’s partner Under Armour, Nike and Adidas were also in the mix.
Texas Tech Raiders' conference schedule
The Texas Tech basketball’s 2024-25 schedule is out. The Big 12 basketball program will begin its conference play at the end of this year. They begin by hosting UCF on New Year's Eve before playing Utah and BYU on January 4 and January 7, respectively.
Six more games are scheduled for January from 11th to 29th (Iowa State, Kansas State Wildcats, Arizona Wildcats, Cincinnati Bearcats, Oklahoma State Cowboys and TCU Horned Frogs). Home and home series against the Arizona State Sun Devils, and Houston Cougars begin in February and March alongside eight other matchups.
Even though January features nearly half of their conference games, the fixtures are a result of the league-wide process. The games are decided on the basis of geography and historical results alongside coach polls to balance the program’s schedule and maintain competitiveness at the same time.
The Raiders mounted an 11-7 run in the Big 12 play last season and finished third (tied with Baylor).
